Trusted Specialty Roofing Installation in Spokane and North Idaho
Synthetic cedar shake and synthetic slate tile give homeowners across Spokane and North Idaho the look of natural materials without the upkeep, weight, or weather problems that come with the real thing. New Heights Roofing installs specialty residential roofing systems from top synthetic manufacturers, including CEDUR, Brava, and DaVinci. We handle everything from new installations to full replacements.
As the top roofing company in Spokane and North Idaho, we bring over 21 years of experience to every job and back it with strong warranties. As Idaho’s Best 2026 Panhandle Winner, we’ve built our reputation on expert installation, clear pricing, and customer service that protects your home for decades.
Why Choose Synthetic Specialty Roofing for Your Home
Natural cedar shake and slate are beautiful, but they have real drawbacks. Cedar can rot, split, grow moss, and burn. Natural slate is expensive and heavy enough that some homes need extra structural support, and the tiles crack under impact. Synthetic specialty roofing keeps the look and drops most of those problems.
Synthetic shake and slate are made from engineered polymers and molded from real cedar and stone, so they have the texture, shadow lines, and color variation of natural materials. They won’t rot, split, warp, or attract insects. Many products carry Class A fire ratings and Class 4 impact ratings, and top brands back their products with long manufacturer warranties.
These products hold up well in North Idaho’s climate. They handle freeze-thaw cycles, heavy snow loads, high winds, and hail without the cracking and moisture damage natural materials often get, and you can compare top synthetic options for Coeur d’Alene homes. Because they weigh much less than natural slate, most homes can take them without structural changes. Class 4 impact ratings may also qualify you for lower insurance premiums.

I couldnтАЩt be Happier with the experience at New Heights Roofing. They WILL do what it takes to do the job right!
Trying to find a good Roofer you can trust can be exasperating – I had 10 entities look at my job, with the care it needed. Some тАЬthoughtтАЭ they knew what they were doing, some would тАЬflake outтАЭ and not show up etc.
When New Heights arrived it was a relief – they were very pleasant and professional, and listened intently. They have the тАЬCustomer comes firstтАЭ as was evident when I made changes to my shingle order twice.
I highly recommend you have them out to do your roofing job.

In spring 2023 I needed about 1,000 square feet of old fiberglass roofing (circa 1978) taken off my wrap around deck and breezeway and replaced with metal. The roof is supported by a wooden lattice. I wanted to paint the wooden lattice while the old roof was off and the new one installed…a lot easier and also allowed me to inspect and repair any bad wood. New Heights happily scheduled several days between removal and install…and when I realized it was taking me a lot longer to paint the wood lattice they again shuffled their schedule to give me an additional week more time. Very accommodating and appreciated.
The main person Chris B. came out both times to assess the job and he also rolled up his sleeves and helped with the removal of the old fiberglass. The work crews were professional, timely, very capable, paid attention to detail, and cleaned up extremely well after the projects.
I highly recommend this company and its people.
