At New Heights Roofing, we love a good challenge—and our recent project on Spokane’s Northside was exactly that. This unique roof replacement not only tested our team’s skills, but gave us the opportunity to completely transform the look and durability of a beautiful home.
We started with an intensive tear-off, removing three full layers of old shingles, which had clearly seen better days. Beneath the surface, we also replaced the home’s aging sheeting, ensuring a fresh, solid foundation for the new roof. Once the decking was in place, our crew laid down Malarkey High-Temp Ice & Water Shield, along with Malarkey’s Permeable Synthetic Underlayment—a combination that offers top-tier protection against moisture and extreme weather.
What really made this project stand out, however, was the installation of CertainTeed Carriage House designer shingles in the elegant Brownstone color. These high-end shingles don’t just offer exceptional performance; they bring a historic, dimensional aesthetic to the home that’s hard to ignore. Inspired by the Victorian-era carriage houses, these shingles feature cut-away corners and shadow lines that create the look of natural slate—without the cost or weight. Their heavyweight construction also means added durability, wind resistance, and a longer lifespan.
In addition to the main pitched roof, we installed a new TPO flat-roof system on a smaller front section of the home, ensuring a seamless blend of style and function across all roof types.
To wrap it all up, we added new Lomanco 750 roof vents and several Lifetime Ultimate Pipe Flashings, completing the system with proper ventilation and leak protection.
When we first arrived, this roof was in rough shape—but with careful craftsmanship and premium materials, we turned it into a showpiece. The finished product not only protects the home, but elevates its entire curb appeal.
