We recently had the pleasure of working with our client, George, on a roof replacement project at his beautiful home in Spirit Lake, ID. The roof needed to be replaced due to the age and wear of the existing shingles, and George chose our team at New Heights Roofing to get the job done.
Our team started by carefully protecting the home and surrounding property. We then proceeded to tear off the single layer of old shingles to ensure a clean and smooth surface for the new roof installation. With the old shingles removed, we prepped the plywood deck and got it ready for the next phase of the project.
To ensure maximum protection for George’s home, we installed high-quality ice shield in all valleys and used synthetic felt as the underlayment. As part of our commitment to quality, we always install new flashings and never reuse old ones. For this project, we installed new ‘D’ style drip metal, end wall flashing, step flashing, and valley metal.
For proper ventilation, we installed the LOR9-4 ridge vent system, which will help keep the attic cool and moisture-free. In addition to the ridge vent, we also replaced the B vent flashings and stem vent, further enhancing the roof’s performance.
We then installed Malarkey Highlander shingles in the stunning Midnight Black color, using 6 nails per shingle instead of the standard 4. With 28 squares of shingles installed, George’s roof not only looks amazing but also provides exceptional protection against the elements.
To ensure safety and convenience for future maintenance, our team installed permanent anchors along the roofline. These hidden anchors will allow for easy and secure access without damaging the roofing materials.
