When a Roof Replacement Installation Becomes Necessary in Spokane Valley
Spokane Valley Climate Demands Durable Roofing
Spokane Valley homes face a wide range of weather conditions throughout the year. From heavy snow loads in winter to hot, dry summers, roofs must withstand dramatic temperature swings and seasonal storms. These environmental factors gradually weaken shingles, flashing, and underlayment. Over time, even a well-maintained roof may reach the point where replacement is the most reliable solution. A professional roof replacement installation ensures that every layer of the roofing system, from decking to ventilation, is installed correctly.
A comprehensive roof replacement installation improves insulation, prevents moisture intrusion, and enhances curb appeal. When homeowners upgrade their roofs, they also gain peace of mind knowing their property is better protected from costly damage. Choosing a residential roofing contractor with strong credentials is equally important. New Heights Roofing is a BBB A+ Accredited Business, reflecting a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. For Spokane Valley homeowners, that means dependable service backed by proven expertise.

- Shingles are curling, cracked, or missing across multiple sections of the roof, indicating widespread deterioration rather than isolated damage.
- Dark streaks, moss growth, or granule buildup in gutters suggest aging shingles that are losing their protective surface layer.
- Persistent leaks or water stains appearing on ceilings or attic surfaces even after multiple repairs have been completed.
- Sagging areas or uneven roof lines that may indicate structural concerns or weakened decking beneath the roofing materials.
- Rising heating and cooling costs caused by poor ventilation or compromised insulation within the roofing system.
- Your roof is approaching or exceeding its expected lifespan, which is typically twenty to thirty years for standard asphalt shingles.
- Storm damage from wind or hail has affected large sections of the roof, making a roof replacement installation more cost-effective than extensive patchwork.
Our Replacement Process
- 1. Comprehensive Roof Inspection: The process begins with a detailed inspection of your existing roof. Roofing specialists evaluate shingle condition, flashing integrity, attic ventilation, and underlying decking. This inspection determines whether a replacement installation is necessary and identifies any structural concerns before work begins. Homeowners receive a clear explanation of findings along with recommended solutions.
- 2. Material Selection and Project Planning: Once replacement is confirmed, homeowners choose from durable roofing materials designed to perform well in Spokane ValleyтАЩs climate. Contractors review shingle styles, color options, and warranty details. A detailed project plan outlines timelines, costs, and installation steps so homeowners know exactly what to expect.
- 3. Preparation and Site Protection: Before the roof replacement installation begins, crews prepare the property to protect landscaping, siding, and outdoor spaces. Tarps and debris-containment methods help maintain a clean jobsite. Safety measures ensure both workers and homeowners remain protected during the replacement process.
- 4. Removal of Existing Roofing Materials: Old shingles and damaged components are carefully removed down to the roof decking. This step allows contractors to inspect the structural foundation of the roof. Any compromised decking or underlying materials are repaired or replaced before new roofing layers are installed.
- 5. Installation of Underlayment and Flashing: A waterproof underlayment is installed to create a moisture barrier. Flashing is placed around valleys, chimneys, and roof penetrations to prevent leaks. These protective layers play a critical role in ensuring long-term performance.
- 6. New Shingle Installation: High-quality shingles are installed using manufacturer-approved methods to maximize durability and warranty protection. Proper alignment and fastening techniques help the roof resist wind, snow, and heavy rainfall common in Spokane Valley.
- 7. Ventilation and Ridge System Installation: Adequate ventilation improves airflow through the attic and prevents moisture buildup. Ridge vents and other ventilation components are installed to regulate temperature and extend the lifespan of the roofing system.
- 8. Final Inspection and Cleanup: After the roof replacement installation, the entire roof is inspected to ensure every component meets quality standards. The jobsite is thoroughly cleaned, and homeowners receive warranty documentation along with maintenance guidance for protecting their new roof.

I couldnтАЩt be Happier with the experience at New Heights Roofing. They WILL do what it takes to do the job right!
Trying to find a good Roofer you can trust can be exasperating – I had 10 entities look at my job, with the care it needed. Some тАЬthoughtтАЭ they knew what they were doing, some would тАЬflake outтАЭ and not show up etc.
When New Heights arrived it was a relief – they were very pleasant and professional, and listened intently. They have the тАЬCustomer comes firstтАЭ as was evident when I made changes to my shingle order twice.
I highly recommend you have them out to do your roofing job.

In spring 2023 I needed about 1,000 square feet of old fiberglass roofing (circa 1978) taken off my wrap around deck and breezeway and replaced with metal. The roof is supported by a wooden lattice. I wanted to paint the wooden lattice while the old roof was off and the new one installed…a lot easier and also allowed me to inspect and repair any bad wood. New Heights happily scheduled several days between removal and install…and when I realized it was taking me a lot longer to paint the wood lattice they again shuffled their schedule to give me an additional week more time. Very accommodating and appreciated.
The main person Chris B. came out both times to assess the job and he also rolled up his sleeves and helped with the removal of the old fiberglass. The work crews were professional, timely, very capable, paid attention to detail, and cleaned up extremely well after the projects.
I highly recommend this company and its people.
